I have a migraine that won't go away. I have vomited 8 times so far and i see double. I have tried OTC migraine medicines and benadryl (diphenhydramine). Is there anything else that i can try?

Rule out ICB: For a persistent headache associated with nausea and resistant to medications, you should get a head ct in the emergency room/department. This could be an intracranial bleed. These are usually associated with trauma, but I have seen some spontaneous icb's. If the head ct is negative, follow up with your physician to get stronger migraine medication and maybe a migraine controller medication. ...Read more

What is the connection between banadryl and migraine?

What is the connection between banadryl and migraine?

NOT USUALLY: I am not fully aware of any connection between Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and migraine, other than a relationship btwn allergic rhinitis in migraine sufferers and then ingestion of antihistamines for relief. Can benedryl be used in treatment of migraine... If so how?

Doesn't work well: However, might help you fall asleep which secondarily could end that migraine attack. Aleve (naproxen) seems to work better, but you need about 375 to 500 mg total. Soon starting amitriptyline 10mg for migraine. Also frequently use Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for allergies. Safe if taken a few hrs apart?

Yes, if prescribed: This low dose of amitriptylene may help prevent migraines, but may have some sedation & constipation with it. Best to take it at night. You might consider other, newer options for allergies that aren't as sedating as Benadryl (diphenhydramine) -- especially when added to amitriptylene. Discuss with your doctor, who knows you best.. ...Read more

Too many drugs: With so many new drugs it is hard to tell which or which combination may or may not be causing your symptoms. I can't link the urination to the lip sensation either.
