Anxious depression: both anxiety and depression occur together in many people. Wellbutrin (bupropion) is generally considered an antidepressant but there are studies that show it relieves anxiety as well. The SSRI antidepressants also help both. Relief of mental stressors also helps the body to repair itself. Medication, meditation/mindfulness, exercise, massage, and regular sleep and daily routine are all helpful. ...Read more

Talk to dad's doctor: Unfortunately it sounds like your dad has had progression of his disease to a more advanced stage. Typically patients become non-ambulatory, have difficulty swallowing or clearing their airway. They often develop pneumonia. Of course your dad's doctor will have a better understanding based on your dad's case. You could use support during this time. You might consider a support group. ...Read more
I suffer from male pattern baldness and considering hair transplantation.Doctors in India say one shouldn't wear helmet after surgery.True? Male,28 yr
Risk / benefit: The conventional wisdom is that the heat of a helmet may interfere with the hair taking root. I don't know whether that's true, but as a pathologist I've seen what happens to cyclists and construction workers who don't wear their helmets. Ask for how long, and it's not worth changing careers or even taking a serious risk. If you're physically fit, you look great regardless of where you have hair. ...Read more

My friend mmt(methadone) dr(not psychiatrist)rx him citalopram&s-valporate for uni-p mdd, its good rx?My psych advices bupropion on phone.Best regards.
Interesting issues: If you feel your friend needs to see an actual psychiatrist, you can encourage him or her to do so. If by "psych" you mean psychiatrist, you're putting him/her in an awkward position by asking for some kind of second-guessing on a patient s/he hasn't seen. If the "psych" (could also mean psychologist) suggests med changes anyway, it's ill-informed. His/her comments could also be misinterpreted. ...Read more

Fibromyalgia: Fibromyalgia is often associated with myoclonus, a brief, involuntary twitching of muscles. That may explain your body jerking all over. Stumbling and swaying could be either due to fibromyalgia-related muscle weakness, possibly of your legs, or medication side effects. But you may have some other underlying neurological disorder such as multiple sclerosis... Please check with your doctor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Get back on Lyrica (pregabalin).: Lyrica (pregabalin) has been shown to be effective in treating fibromyalgia pain, but usual doses are 150 mg. Three times a day. Effexor is not shown to be effective but may improve your mood. Usual doses are around 300 mg. A day. It is pretty certain that 75 mg of Effexor will not be helpful for fibromyalgia pain. You must continue to take the Lyrica (pregabalin) to get benefit. ...Read more
