Umbilical hernia?: Might be a tiny belly button hernia, especially if you have an "outie" belly button. Easy to fix with a mini-surgticakl procedure by a genearl or pediatric surgeon. Many pediatric urologists also do this kind of surgery. Certainly worth having it checked out.. ...Read more

Infection: Even in the absence of redness I consider this to be an infection in the navel. Treat this with warm soaks, pat dry and apply an antibacterial ointment like neosporin. Wipe the surrounding skin with rubbing alcohol to prevent spread of bacteria there.
