I had my gall bladder removed a month ago it made my belly button an outie which it was previously an innie when should it return to normal ?
Nine months after my delivery. But still my belly button is an outie. Really sad about it. Any solution for this. ?
Yes: Usually outies can be changed to innies. You may have a small umbilical hernia. Approximately 15% of the popular does. Sometimes is goes unoticed, sometimes it forms an out. Increases in weight and pregnancy can cause them to appear and even be symptomatic. If this the case, umbilical hernia repair can help flatten things out. ...Read more
My babies umbilical cord fell off today(baby is 1 Week Old). Do I put anything on it to help it heal faster?? The belly button is also outie.
Not necessarily: The umbilical stump is made to fall off - after it does there is often very little needed to facilitate it completing its healing. You can use a small drop of liquid soap (not antibacterial) to aid in the remainder drying out - but if you do nothing it will likely be just fine! If it is not healed by the 2 week visit - your provider will take care of the rest. ...Read more
No: You probably have a hernia and it can be repaired to make an innie. The hernia can be fixed and a cosmetic procedure can be done at the same time. Be careful who does this so that it looks good. I perform more cosmetic belly button surgeries in a month than most surgeons so in an entire year. http://www.drschulmanplasticsurgery.com/body/umbilicoplasty/. ...Read more

Hi, do umbilicoplasties remove hernias on the belly button? Also, does the surgical procedure called a hernia repair turn an outie to an innie?
Umbilical hernias. : Umbelicoplasty should involve a repair of an umbelical hernia. But it does not have to. These are two different procedures. I would always do the following in the same procedure. 1) repair the hernia 2) do the umbelicoplasty and remove the excess tissue and 3) convert an "outie" to an "innie" ...Read more
I had gall bladder surgery a month ago. My belly button was an innie but is now an outie. When will it go back to normal? Can I do something to help?
Not sure: If you had the "outie" directly after surgery, it may be how the surgeon put the incision back together, and the only way to fix it is another surgery (only needed for cosmetic reasons). If it was an "innie" after surgery, but all of a sudden is an "outie", then you may have a hernia related to the surgery. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
