I had small sliding hiatal hernia 4/12. 3/27/13 i was hit from behind in car accident with seatbelt on 4/2/13 had gastric bypass surgery; found large paraesophageal hernia.Can the accident cause this?

It is possible: It is possible, but difficult to know 100%. It would be helpful to know how large the hernia was at the time if you gastric bypass, something your surgeon would know. Go to gym: Regularly do exercises , eat healthy balanced food you will loose the belly fat but the loose skin will not go away , even if you ware elastic bandages , skin once stretched will not contract ( but will to certain extent in young ) you will need some type of corrective surgery if it bothers you. ...Read more

Bypass and band: Lap band is the safest and is reversible which attracts a lot of patients, but failure rates are high, it is easy to cheat, weight loss is slower. Bypass is the gold standard, been around for 50yrs, results in the greatest weight loss, highest cure rates for diabetes, but has a higher risk. Stomach stapling can mean many different things.
