What is a small fat containing umbilical hernia, I have been diagnosed with one, you can't see it, my belly button is still poked in!
Usually not serious: Hi james, since the hernia is small and contains only fat (from within the abdomen), it is unlikely that it will lead to incarceration or strangulation of intestines, which is the worst complication of hernias. The belly button is still in the same spot. The fat in the small hernia sac is right next to the belly button (umbilicus). Unless symptoms increase or persist to a disturbing degree, there is no "next". If those problem do occur, see your physiian. ...Read more
