Pregnancy (Definition)

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

Psyllium husk: Hi. Psyllium seed husk contains no gluten and is a great fiber laxative. You can get the psyllium husk anywhere, or get the processed version, Metamucil (contains sweetener and flavoring). Give psyllium a try with lots of water. I hope it does the trick! ...Read more

What is wrong with me? I'm pregnant and should be happy but am depressed.

What is wrong with me? I'm pregnant and should be happy but am depressed.

What's wrong: Is the word "should". Not every pregnant person is happy and even if they are happy most of the time, we all have our ups and downs. Perhaps you are putting too much pressure on yourself to conform to your ideal of a pregnant mother. Why not talk this out with first your doctor and then with a therapist? ...Read more

Im stressed and believe im pregnant I have all the classic symptoms of being pregnant so is there a chance im still pregnant with these symptoms?

Wait 10 days...: Millions of women get pregnant every week in the world... A completely natural event, so no worrying is needed. Just do something else for 10 days, and on the 10th day do another urine pregnancy test from the drugstore. If it's done and read correctly, it's very accurate. If the test is negative, but a period doesn't occur the next month, have the ob-gyn evaluate to figure things out. ...Read more

Are you able to have kids with pcos? Is it any health risks while being pregnant and having pcos?

YES and YES: Once properly treated, patients with pcos can conceive and have a healthy pregnancy. Preg Test: No way of telling except by a Preg Test. Can purchase OTC at drug store. Your most fertile time is a 24 hour window during your cycle when your temperature goes up. You can take the temperature in the morning before getting out of bed and write it down. After following it along the temp should go up in the middle of the cycle. This is when you are ovulating and the highest chance of conceiving. ...Read more

I was diagnosed with BPD and OCPD, but how can I have both? I thought they were opposites; BPD being impulsive and OCPD being obsessed with order.

I was diagnosed with BPD and OCPD, but how can I have both? I thought they were opposites; BPD being impulsive and OCPD being obsessed with order.

Confusion?: Dx - esp ln Mental Health can be confusing. One is a personality style and the other is a 'disorder'. They do sound opposite, but don't have to be. BDPs might not be impulsive and not all OCDs care about order. You may still be right to doubt either or both Dxs. Consider alt opinions and know that neither has a clear Tx, so it may not matter. Seek Tx w/ a therapist you feel you can trust. Best! ...Read more

Odds of being pregnant with irregular periods?

Odds of being pregnant with irregular periods?

Still possible: Irregular periods are caused when your body's signals for ovulation and menstruation get confused by hormonal imbalances that can be related to your thyroid (TSH), pituitary (LH/FSH/prolactin), ovaries (estrogen/progesterone). Many external factors can affect the hormones: malnutrition, stress, obesity, for example. Hormonal contraception can help to regulate your periods, which is healthier. ...Read more

I am on birth control and used condoms but I have been having some pregnancy symptoms including: missed periods, nausea, and stomach cramps, but I hVs also been very stessed, so can these symptoms be from stress or would it be pregnancy?

Many mornings around 7 a.m. very nauseas often with diahrrhea. Male, so not pregnant. Omeprazole and probiotics haven't helped.

AM nausea: Consider testing for H pylori. It is a bacteria associated with gastritis GERD and the omeprazole will not work unless you are treated with antibiotics ( usually 2 or 3 together ) or consider ultrasound to check gallbladder as well as pancreas. Avoid alcohol, check liver tests and for hepatitis C ...Read more
