Sounds like hives: It sounds like you are having urticaria (hives) and i agree that it is probably an allergy to a preservative in the beer and wine- possibly sulfites. When it happens you can try taking an over-the-counter antihistamine like benedryl or zyrtec (cetirizine). Also consider seeing an allergist for allergy testing. Probably ok: Drinking 1 glass of wine or beer is generally OK for a woman and up to 2 glasses of wine or beer is usually ok for a man. But there are always exceptions to this rule such as if you have liver problems or are taking some medications (like seizure medications) which can be affected by alcohol use and decrease their efficacy. Hard to predict: I am assuming the concussion occurred within a day of the drinking. At that time the effects of the alcohol could be amplified and the effects of the concussion could be amplified.
