Not necessarily: Just because you have been taking Xanax (alprazolam) for a week doesn't mean you are addicted. Antibiotics: Antibiotics should be prescribed by your dentist and taken if you have an infection... they are not painkillers. Your toothache my be due to a vital tooth; if that is the case, they are useless. An infected tooth requires more than the antibiotic.. root canal therapy is usually indicated. One glass of wine should not be problematic. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I have been taken one and a half milligram of Xanax (alprazolam) per day for about six or seven weeks am i ok to stop will it be safe I do not have a doctor?
Prescribing doctor?: If you have been taking that much xanax (alprazolam), (alprazolam) someone has supplied you with it -- either legally through prescription or illegally otherwise. At that dose you could have some withdrawal symptoms. So, i suggest you do see a physician to help you taper off the medication. It's best to establish a relationship so you can be followed over time for both the xanax (alprazolam) issues, and the reasons you're taking it. ...Read more

You will be fine: Your answer about contacting the doctor was not completed. Not clear if you were able to contact. That is the correct thing to do. Another option is to go to your pharmacy and explain your situation. The pharmacist can attempt to contact your doctor on your behalf. Either way, you will most likely manage between Thanksgiving and Friday, when you can get your script filled. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Is Xanax safe during pregnancy at very low doses? I have been taking Xanax for about 10 years and was on 2mg twice a day when i found out i was pregnant at 8 weeks. Immediately after finding out, my doctor cut me down to .5 mg a day to avoid withrawals. I
Hello. : Hello. First congratulations on your pregnancy. Second, I am really glad that your doctor is tapering you off of xanax (alprazolam). It is fda pregnancy category d. This means it should be avoided during pregnancy. There are other medications that can be used during pregnancy for anxiety that would be much safer. However, by tapering off of it, your can prevent your baby from being born with an addiction with potentional for withdrawal after birth. Take care. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I have been taking a half pill per day of 50mg Tramadol. If I stop taking it will I have withdrawal? I only took that once each day.
I take a half a Xanax (alprazolam) three or 4 times a day and it's half of 0.25. I've been taking them every day for about a month. Will i need to be weened off?
Possibly: It is rarely a good idea to stop taking most psych meds suddenly. You are taking 0.375 to 0.5 mg of xanax (alprazolam) for only a month. I don't have enough info to know which anxiety disorder you have. I would discuss this with your prescribing doctor. I believe in slow tapering of benzodiazepines in general, but the particulars of your case could make tapering unnecessary. Psychopharmacology is very much the art of knowing our patients and their illnesses and placing them on medication and taking them off medication appropriately and elegantly. Best wishes. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
MY todler is over 1 year old and I am still breastfeeding a couple times a day. Would it be safe if I took .5mg of xanax (alprazolam)?
Is not safe: 0.5mg of Alprazolam or Xanax (alprazolam) is not too much. Thec risc of breast feeding it wiill depend if it is a one time use or a chronic treatment?. There will be traces of it in the breast milk which the baby would ingest. Again if it's a one time it will be negligible, of no consequences but if you planning on chronic xanax (alprazolam) use, better stop breast feeding now. One year is a good run anyway. ...Read more
