I have had a headache right behind my eyes for about a week now. I have taken Advil (ibuprofen) but it doesn't seem to even touch it. What could be causing this?

Optic neuritis: Any changes in vision or double vision? Behind the eye pain (retro-orbital) pain can be caused by inflammation. In younger women, if accompanied by other visual symptoms can represent optic neuritis. Likely 2 types of HA: you may be suffering from 2 types of headache: migraine + analgesic overuse headache (if you have been taking exedrin migraine more than 2 times per week). decreasing the exedrin migraine frequency down to 2 times per week will help with the 2nd headache, for migraine you need to discuss with a neurologist getting on a prophylactic agent that is the best one for you depending on your medical hx ...Read more

I've have had the same headache for over two weeks now. Its behind the bridge of my nose, and behind both of my eyes. Because of these headaches, lights and sounds bother me, I also get very nauseous. Should I be concerned with anything?

Poss, but unlikely: The symptoms you describe are of a classic migraine with a "status migrainous". This is usually not dangerous but needs to be evaluated and treated and may be very treatable. This could also be a sinus infection. Lastly, there are some rare problems that can cause these symptoms, like pituitary problems. No matter what it needs to be checked out and the right treatment started. ...Read more
