Who know?: Good question! But, do we need to worry a common life event of so many decades apart? So, it's hard to find a study to answer your question. Theoretically, one may assume "yes" as your answer because bed wetting at young results from delayed maturity & adaptation of nerve system, leading to be "less perfect" than others; so aging + "less perfect" = more so at older age. Yes but not meds: Medicines will stop the bed wetting but it will start back up as soon as the meds are stopped. Hypnosis is usually effective at this age. ...Read more

Yes-try retrain 1st: Your child is old enough for medication, but best try other methods first like restricting fluids after supper and taking to toilet after couple of hrs. Best proven cure is bedwetting alarm. This attaches to underpants and buzzes +/or vibrates to wake child. In time child "hears" alarm before it goes off and they either wake or hold it in. Several: Alternatives include Imipramine, a tricyclic antidepressant given before bed. Been used for decades. Also there are alarm pads that signal if even a drop of urine is passed.
