High school/courses: You do not need college education to become medical assistant. The job of medical assistant is to assist the doctor/doctors in day to day functioning of medical office, like preparing patirnts for examination, checking bp, height/weight, ekg and other office tests and other duties assigned. It requires a certificate course.

Stitches: Many medical assistants are well trained by their doctor to take sutures out.
Will it hurt? This depends on a lot of factors. If the doctor put them in nicely, they are easy to take out and does not hurt. If the patient waits to have the sutures removed past the date recommended for removal, the sutures are harder to get out and can be a bit painful. ...Read more

More training better: A medical assistant has less training than a dialysis technician and is ready to work more quickly. However, the opportunity for advancement is limited forcing further training such as nursing school. A dialysis technician must become certified after more extensive training. Yes: For a person with a positive PPD skin test and a negative chest x-ray, if he had a BCG vaccine in the past, he can do a quantiferon TB blood test to see if he was exposed to real TB or just to the BCG shot. If he never had a bcg, he can talk with his doctor to decide if he should take inh prophylaxis against tb. If it is not sure if he truly truly was positive on the skin test, he can repeat it. ...Read more

The MA would not have been able to press deep enough through the chest wall to affect the heart, lungs or aorta directly.
