Stitches: Many medical assistants are well trained by their doctor to take sutures out. Will it hurt? This depends on a lot of factors. If the doctor put them in nicely, they are easy to take out and does not hurt. More training better: A medical assistant has less training than a dialysis technician and is ready to work more quickly. However, the opportunity for advancement is limited forcing further training such as nursing school. A dialysis technician must become certified after more extensive training. Yes: For a person with a positive PPD skin test and a negative chest x-ray, if he had a BCG vaccine in the past, he can do a quantiferon TB blood test to see if he was exposed to real TB or just to the BCG shot. If he never had a bcg, he can talk with his doctor to decide if he should take inh prophylaxis against tb. Had an EKG done my doc's office.The medical assistant pressed very hard on my chest(on the sternum&around it)to find the right locations for the electrodes.This hurt my chest a lot/caused bruises/pain/shortness of breath.Can this harm my heart/aorta?
Musculoskeletal. : Your discomfort and shortness of breath are likely musculoskeletal due to the excessive pressure upon the muscles and bones of the chest wall. The MA would not have been able to press deep enough through the chest wall to affect the heart, lungs or aorta directly.
