When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

If mom quit using cocaine while 6 months pregnant nd she is drug test at delivery she show. Up clean nd bby will they still test plancenta?
Depends: If there is suspicion of exposure the initial testing is done on the urine. That would certainly be clear if you abstain for months. Another common test material is the poo, which can hold onto the metabolites of Cocaine or other drugs for weeks to months. I've never heard of testing the placenta.Stay clean or you could deliver prematurely & increase the danger & level of scrutiny. ...Read more
I have a friend that's pregnant and wants to know if they drug test babies when they are born She is 37.5 weeks along and has taken a few oxycodone?
Some hospitals are: Some hospitals are now testing ALL women at the time of admission to see if they or baby have been exposed to anything and/or are at risk for withdrawal symptoms. If the mom tests positive for anything, then the baby is tested by urine, meconium or cord samples to determine if at risk for problems or withdrawal. It is far better to be up front and honest with the doc for both sakes. ...Read more

I been feeling sick all day and when I went to do my drug test for work it looked like there was clear slimy stuff in my pee. I think I'm pregnant?
I'm 4 months pregnant and have recently smoked marijuana. I need to pass a drug test for a job and I'm seeking for the best way I can assure I do with?
Stop: If you had a brief exposure/smoking event your pee may clear within a week. Heavy users can take months to clear since the THC binds to your fat cells & leaks out over time. If I look for it in baby I am likely to find it, so you need to stay off it while pregnant. It does questionable things to a fetus. In my state if they find it, baby goes to foster care & you go to the courthouse. ...Read more
I am 37 weeks pregnant. I took a home drug test for THC and test positive. What does the state of mo do if I give birth and my baby and I are positive?
I agree: I understand your concerns about legal action. Your child will continue to smoke mj when you do & get even more through breast milk. He'll be far more " stoned" than you because of his size, which will harmfully impact his development. He'll have high risk of accidental injury or death if you parent while "stoned." if you disclose & seek help, you & your baby will both benefit. ...Read more
I am 32 weeks pregnant and am having horrible sciataca and back pain from a car accident a few years ago. I took a 30mg oxycontin that I still had from an old prescription. I'm wondering if this will effect my baby or any drug test that may be administere
Yes, it will: Pregnancy causes many changes in the body and can both be a source of new back pain and aggravate existing back pain. Opiate pain medication will pass directly into your baby's blood, and regular use in pregnancy can actually cause addiction and a withdrawal syndrome in the child, so opiates are not a preferred pain med in pregnancy. Your obstetrician or primary doc has other ways to help. ...Read more

Drug testing: Drug testing is not routine with all births, but may be done if any suspicion of a drug exposure is present. If I look, I can prove drug exposure & type back as early as 20 wks. In my state, proof of exposure would sent the kid to foster care until the issues are sorted out. ...Read more
Not usually: It depends, some apparently innocent otc contain ephedra derivatives or codeine; also, false positives for some meds (tca, barbiturates) due to benadryl, (diphenhydramine) ibuprofen, naproxene and others are common. Drs are aware, generally. But usually with the most common methods, hardly ever any otc will affect the main ones (cocaine, bzd, thc, amphetamines, etc). Ask your dr. Stay clean; good luck. ...Read more
No: drug testing companies have become equally sophisticated with the companies that make products to beat those tests. The various products available produce results that can be tested for, like nitrates. If there were a product to beat tests, an ethical and reputable physician would not be telling you about it. I don't know: What you should do. How about - don't use any illicit mood-altering drugs? That would be a start, I guess. If you are using them, THEN STOP. Most drugs are out of the body in that period of time, with the exception of long-acting opioids like Methadone and OxyContin, MS-Contin etc which may still be around, and marijuana (THC) which can last for weeks and even a few months in heavy users. ...Read more

No basis for concern: Nothing in dayquil would be part of a standard urine drug screen. There is also nothing in dayquil that is of concern if it were detected.
