Bean Allergy Symptoms
Symptoms with eating: Bean allergy is less common than other food allergies. Beans are legumes and include soy, peanut, kidney, lentil, string, green, etc. Bean allergy can cause anaphylaxis. The usual symptoms are hives, lip swelling, vomiting, diarrhea, difficulty breathing within hours after ingestion of beans. An allergist can assist in the diagnosis through allergy testing.
Allergies occur when your immune system is triggered by envirionmental factors it should ignore--for example, pollen in the air, or dander on a cat or dog--and creates cells to fight against them. An allergic reaction typically causes itching, congestion, or drainage, and ...Read more
Please what are the derivatives of bean. I know a baby having allergy to bean and its derivatives, but what are the derivative if bean?
Processed products: Beans may be processed to be used as an ingredient in other food products and I presume that's what you mean by derivative. Since the allergen usually remains, the reaction will likely be similar. Example- soy bean-> tofu, soy milk.
I'm just wondering, if you have a tropical fruit allergy is it typical to develop allergy to fresh string beans?
Food allergy: When you have a real food allergy, you have more risk of developing other allergies including different food. Tropical fruit and string beans should not cross react. It is rare to have fruit allergy since fruit is not very allergenic. Most of the time, it is due to cross reactivity with pollens. An allergist can help you tease out all of those questions.
No different: The TH2 immune system produces specific IgE to an allergen and thus the overall reactions will be the same with variations due to organ susceptibility, genetics, degree of allergy (stronger skin test response often but not always reflects more severe reactions), the amount of allergens. Certain medications worsens the severity of reactions. Handling castor bean can cause severe toxicity.
2y baby ate 1 tsp nutella containing soy lecithin and no allergy at all, this means no favism? Don't 've to make sure with test? Can safely eat beans?
About favism...: Surviving a meal of Nutella is not a test for favism (G6PD deficiency). The G6PD test is a simple blood test that any lab can do. The result is a percentage (for example: 20% would mean the person has only 20% of the G6PD that an average normal person has). If deficient, broad beans such as fava beans are a no-no. People may want to avoid other legumes and beans; some beans are worse than others.
What to do if I have whole egg, wheat, cow's milk, cashew, almond, shellfish mix, legume mix and soya bean allergy and I am diabet?
Do eating foods you are allergic to keep your body from absorbing dietary protein? I am allergic to beans and soy, but am trying to be a vegetarian. If I eat foods I am allergic to, do I get protein from them, or does my allergy prevent absorption?
Beans: Get tested by an allergist to determine what you are allergic to, you really do not want to test yourself with foods you are truly allergic to, as you may risk your life.See 2 more doctor answers
Nothing special: Allergic reactions are pretty common and for the most part not specific to the specific antigen (cause). If the exposure to titanium is direct skin contact, would expect redness and possible swelling there. See:http://j.Mp/vgz70k.
Antihistamine/Sprays: Allergy symptoms can include both nose and eye symptoms and include itching, watering, running, congestion, cough, post-nasal drip, and sneezing. OTC antihistamines, steroid nasal sprays, and antihistamine eye drops all help relieve allergy symptoms. Avoidance of triggers that make your allergies worse is also helpful. See an Allergist to determine exactly what you might be allergic to.
Allergy Symptoms: Allergic rhinitis symptoms include sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, itchy nose or eyes, sinus pressure, tearing, red eyes, ear fullness, post-nasal drainage. Allergic symptoms in the skin or lungs can manifest differently but usually when one asks about "allergy" symptoms it most commonly refers to rhinitis.See 1 more doctor answer
Allergy to HIV meds: Drug allergies can occur to virtually any medication. The symptoms vary greatly. Rashes are a common sign of drug allergy, but so are joint pains and many other symptoms. Most reactions are side effects and not allergies. Here is wiki's index of which HIV medications cause which types of adverse symptoms and reactions. Http://en. Wikipedia. Hmm. Is it Fluffy?: If truly from allergies, respiratory sx lasting that long means continued or repeated exposure, usually, unless secondary issue like sinusitis/cough/GERDVCD. In northern climates this time of year think indoor allergens: dust mites, molds, feathers, or pets with fur - dogs and cats, mostly.
