Bbt Rise Before Ovulation
When doing BBT (basel body temping) can your temp rise and stay up without ovulating or is the temp rise always a sign you've ovulated?
Sorry: Even with very regular cycles there is never an always with bbt. They are mostly reliable an predictive, but even trained experts don't always agree on the exact details of reading a BBT chart. Read more
Is it possible for BBT to go up and stay up for several days then get back to normal without having ovulation? Or a rise in BBT always mean ovulation?
Old Wives Tales: BBT is not in any way a modern or exact way to monitor anything about your menstrual cycle. If you are having monthly periods you are ovulating. Your ovulation is like clock work, it does not vary. Many women learn to feel when their ovary releases the egg. Ovulation happens just shy of half way through your cycle. The five days prior to that event is when sperm will cause pregnancy. Read more
How long after ovulation can it take your BBT to rise?? On 17-18 it was 97.1 & got +opk on 18.On 19 it was 97.3 n got -opk. These morning its 97.4...
My lh surge was from 10pm cd18 to 11am cd 19. Did I ovulated on cd 19 or cd 20, my bbt chart says cd 20 and I got a temp rise cd 21?
Is it true that after ovulation it takes 12-24 hours for BBT to rise? And thus, if you ovulate at night or even late afternoon, your morning temp may not show it yet?
Spotting day 10/11, + OPK day 17/18, spotting day 19/20/21, BBT temp still not risen. Ovulated yet? What's happening? Not experienced annovulation
Maybe: Best test for ovulation is a blood Progesterone level of > 3 ng/ml. Other than pregnancy (which is proof positive) the other tests are less specific. I think that bbts are kinda cruel so rarely suggest that my patients do them. Opks have been shown to only increase patient anxiety and not improve chance of pregnancy. So for patients with regular cycles I suggest sex on cyclec days 10/12/14/16. Read more
How soon after ovulation does BBT rise? My BBT raised today from 97.3 to 98.2.When did I ovulate?
I notice very little spotting the day when I see my BBT rise. I usually have spotting b4 ovulation but never after ovulation. Normal?
Occasionally: But if it is normal for you then don't worry about it. It is normal for some and not for others. Read more
I started taking bbt. One month I am seeing a rise in BBT but other month no rise. Does that mean I am not ovulating? Period is very regular.
Periods?: Do you get a regular period? If so, 99% you are ovulating. Bbt is notoriously difficult for some women to use, and opk is not always accurate. Read more
I have regular 30 day cycle, use a bbt therm, but never get a significant rise in bbt at any time in month - even when mucus suggests ovulation?
Possible to ovulate without a BBT temp rise? It has been 24 days since my d&c and no sign of ovulation. Possible I will not ov before next period?
I measure bbt. I had 3 risen temperatures for 3 days after ovulation (14th day) & then low temp for 5 days until today. Is it normal? What to expect?
Normal: What you described is normal variation during a menstrual cycle and you should expect a normal next cycle unless you engaged in sex at the fertile period, in which case you could be pregnant. If you miss your period, do a home test 4-5 days after missed period, use first morning urine and follow the instructions in the kit, carefully. Read more
What causes an elevated rise in LH levels after ovulation? And what are the problems this can cause? I'm 28yo
LH surge causes ovul: Actually it is a surge in the LH levels that cause ovulation. This surge is due to other hormones being present in your system. My temp pre ovulation was 97.6 then dropped to 97.12 on ov day (20) but has not risen dramatically. Now day 29 of 34 and only 97.36? What's going on?
Why haven't I got a BBT rise this month after ovulation? I'm now on day 30 of my cycle of a usual 35 day cycle
BBT is not as useful: As some have been lead to believe. The much more sensitive way to determine ovulation timing is with the use of over the counter LH surge or "ovulation prediction tests". The BBT can be affected by stress, time of year, the instrument used to take the measurement, and of course illness or even vaccines. Travel can affect BBT. Also, you may have not ovulated this cycle. Try an OPK, for best info. Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
