Increased pressure.: You may be experiencing increased back pain if you strain at your stools. If you do, try stool softeners if necessary, and eat 9-11 servings of vegetables and fruits daily. The latter strategy decreases inflammation and may also help detoxify your body. See your doctor for further evaluation if you're not feeling better. Yes: The purpose of a colonoscopy is to look at the entire inner lining of the colon. The cleaner the colon is the better the results of the test. Bowel prepping - taking a prescribed laxative to clean out the colon - induces diarrhea. The idea is to get everything out of the colon so your doctor can visulaize as much of the colon as possible. I often recommend desitin (zinc oxide diaper cream) to help protect the skin! ...Read more

I have had 2 colonoscopys. I can no long go to the bathroom without help. Never had that problem before the first one I had?

BM s/p colonoscopy: On any medications? narcotics,anticholinergics? They slow colonic motility. What did colonoscopy show? Do Nnormal colonic musculature? May be imbalance in autonomic motor activity which can occur s/p procedures/ surgery of the colon. Abdominal film will show if the colon is distended and Sitz study will show if stays too long in colon . if so mestinon (pyridostigmine) may help f/u w/gastroenterologist ...Read more

Perhaps: The stool consistency is important as well. In order to ensure adequate preparation, the stool prior to the procedure should be liquid and yellow. The adequacy of the prep can only be known when the colonoscopy is done. ...Read more

It will pass: Drink plenty of fluid especially with sugar and salt. If its small amounts, even if frequent, and you're not dizzy when you sit or stand up, you should be fine. Need more info: Would need to know why did you have the colonoscopy? What were your symptoms before the colonoscopy? What were the results of your colonoscopy? This may be simple constipation ; need to drink more liquids and use a laxative.
