Yes: Unlike many food allergies, rice allergy afflicts adults more often than young children. The incidence of rice allergy in the United States and europe is very low, because rice is not considered a staple food. In general, the more often a person is exposed to a food, the higher the likelihood that the body becomes sensitized to it.
Food allergy: Allergy to any food, in this case rice will cause symptoms of oral itching, lip or tongue swelling, hives, breathing difficulty and/or throat closure etc. Food allergy is diagnosed with clinical history followed by skin or blood test and that information helps establish the diagnosis and severity of the allergy.
Perhaps: If the symptoms of your allergy are anaphylaxis discuss this with your allergist. Depending on your allergic history the answer may be to not take a chance or to try an oral challenge under close medical observation in the hospital or the allergy office. If you tolerate bran oil there you would be able to use it elsewhere.
If I eat the same food almost every day (sweet potato) or rice :) can I develop and allergy to it?
No: Allergy to foods is determined through complex interaction between genetics and environment,
Yes: Rice milk does not contain milk protein.
Food allergy: You really need to determine first if you are allergic to all the items you listed, consult an allerkgist, a good resource is foodallergy. Org to find approprite foods to eat.
Milk/soy allergy: First, u need to be sure it is true allergy to both. You can use almond milk as well. Rice milk is okay as a last resort. What are the symptoms of your chil'd allergies.
Check the ingredient: You can go to rice dream website checking on the ingredients of the particular product that you are interested in. As long as the product is not processed through the machine that also processed other products containing peanut, you should be able to consume it.
How does one start an elimination diet for food allergies...I was considering rice fruit and vegetables for 1 week?
Best to get checked: New development of food allergies at age 64 is unusual, so your desire to restrict diet, while based on good science, may be an incorrect approach for you. Effective diet exclusions pick one food group to drop (like lactose, gluten), assess response, then move on to another food group. I suggest first you discuss your symptoms & concerns with your doctor & pursue appropriate evaluation instead.See 1 more doctor answer
My baby 4 month old had allergy reaction. We tried to give him for the first time rice cereal and he had in all body red little spots. What can it be?
Allergy/viral rash: Very rare to develop allergic reaction to rice cereal. If your baby was suffering with cold/was sick with fever, the rash could be due to viral infection. If he was completely normal prior to starting rice cereal and developed rash immediately then he may be allergic to rice cereal. Please talk to your doctor before you start introducing new foods. You may also wait to introduce food at 6 mnts age
Does a +2 on a skin allergy test mean that you should not eat anything with that item in it? The foods are milk, yeast, potato and rice
Whoa: If someone has told you to shun everything to which you have supposed skin sensitivity, please get a second opinion. I'm not an allergist, but food allergies are best determined by your clinical response to a particular food. Skin tests are adjuncts at best & often misleading. Nowadays, people are disrupting their lives and those of others by overly-restrictive diets from weak evidence like this.
Need help for mom of boy newly diagnosed with allergies. Where do you find recipes without tree nuts, soy, wheat, corn, rice, tomato for family of 6?
Support online: Yes, it can be difficult to figure out how to navigate a restricted diet. The food allergy and anaphylaxis network (now fare) and the kids with food allergies.Org can help with recipes and label reading tips. I would also go to the whole foods (or trader joes) and talk to the manager about a tour and brand options for your specific needs. Also try ian's foods online.
I've seb der scalp but no allergy found When I eat anything diary, legumes, some vegies like spinach, rice or anything contain sugar I lose many hair???
Seb der: Unfortunately there is no test to find out if a food is triggering your hair loss or the seborrhea. To my knowledge there is no known connection. About the best you can do is to log a food diary in order to verify an association by trial and error. Alternative you could explore other causes of hair loss.
My 14 mo old daughter has a milk allergy. What is the best milk substitute? Rice, soy, or almond milk?
Allergy test came back highly allergic to all dairy, all wheat, gluten, all yeast, rice, eggs, some fish. Could anything else be wrong? Why so much?
Doubtful results: I wonder if you had your test with a board certified allergist, or was it a random blood test you had with another practitioner. It is unlikely for an adult to be allergic to all these items and I stronly doubt the accuracy of these results. I suggest you consult a board certified allergist to discuss your symptoms and determine the indication for specific testing.See 2 more doctor answers
8 wk old milk/soy protein allergy -on neocate, &allergic to rice. Showed similar reaction to nutra that contained rice/corn starch-allergic to starch?
Milk Allergy: Allergies are due to a reaction to protein. Corn is a starch or carbohydrate. If you infant reacted to nutra, it would not be from reacting to the starch. I assume the reaction was either eczema or bloody stools, not gas or a change in stools. If the reaction was not eczema or bloody stools, your baby may be intolerant and not allergic.
