My son is 11 and a pitcher in baseball. Will push ups and pitching wear on his rotator cuff? Will a sore rotator cuff cause other arm issues?

Pitching: While pitching can be stressful to a shoulder, at 11 it is more likely to cause bone/growth plate issues. The rotator cuff is less vulnerable at his age, but can still get inflamed. Push ups and other exercises to strengthen his body should help reduce injury. Make sure he follows appropriate pitch counts/limits and consider using a pitching coach to monitor his form. ...Read more

My son has sore wlbow . Could be from throwing a baseball.Dows not hurt all the time just when throwing hard . What is the best remedy?

Rest, talk to his MD: Throwing a ball of any kind can cause soreness in the elbow of that arm. Rest is the main treatment. Talk to his doctor about it. If it is from throwing, then he may need to change how he holds or throws the ball to decrease he pain. (don't throw curve balls until mid-teenage years.) warm soaks or heat packs to the elbow can also speed the healing. ...Read more

TRAUMA: What is your question? It appears that you may have had significant blunt trauma which most likely resulted in soft tissue injury and possible concussion. We dont know anything else about you or the incident, not even your age and medical history or duration of your symptoms.
