Basal body temperature low after ovulation?

Basal body temperature low after ovulation?

Ok: Although I am not a big fan of basal body temperature charts, you are using them, than typically, the temp drops prior to ovulation and than peaks approximately 36 hours later. Problem is that by the time you get to peak, the egg is no longer viable or fertilize-able; and many women do not get the initial drop prior to ovulation. Good luck. ...Read more

Basal body temperature low after ovulation. Is this normal?

Basal body temperature low after ovulation. Is this normal?

Yes: Although bbts are not a very effective way of timing ovulation; in the classic situation, your temperature drops right before ovulation and than spikes approximately shortly later. The egg is estimated to live for 12-24 hours so once you see the temperature peak, it is probably to late and you have missed ovulation. The ovulation detection kits or odk are much more accurate in timing ovulation. ...Read more

If a woman exhibits consistent "fallback rise" BBT chart w/2dpo temp dip, will IUI on 1dpo reduce chance of fertilization b/c hormone change day after?

If a woman exhibits consistent "fallback rise" BBT chart w/2dpo temp dip, will IUI on 1dpo reduce chance of fertilization b/c hormone change day after?

Confusing: Sorry, it's kinda confusing what you are asking: "fallback rise" does not mean anything medically specific to me. Bbt is a sketchy way to time IUI under best of circumstances; i can say that 1 day after a certain ovulation (which BBT is not) would likely be late for conception. Iui strategy favors inseminating a little early rather than a little late. ...Read more

Does a rise in temperature confirm ovulation occured. Opk + and temp high day 13-24 of cycle, 6 months negative hpt?

Short luteal phase: With a +opk ovulation happens in 24 hrs and your temperature rises. A triphasic chart has 3 levels of temperatures:pre-ovulation (97.0 to 97.5), post-ovulation or luteal (97.6 to 98.6), and then a 2nd rise around 7-10 days after ovulation (3/10's - 4/10's over the luteal high). Some women with these charts turn out to be pregnant. But many do not. They should last 14 days, yours is 8 which is short. ...Read more
