False positives: That should not happen. Unless you are taking HCG shots at the time. Usually that means you have a naturally elevated lh level. It also likely means the kits wont work very well for you in general. ...Read more

No: It is not normal for it to drop then. It usually drops 1-2 days prior to ovulation and if trying to conceive that is when you should have intercourse. . If it drops 8 days before your period is due maybe you are off on your days and you are ovulating then? ...Read more

Common: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Pattern matters: When you look at BBT charts, what matters is the pattern, not the actual temperature. You should expect to see a rise in the temp about 2-3 dys after ovulation. Even though it may help you figure out cheaply when and of you ovulate, most fertility docs discourage its use since it not terribly accurate and doing it properly increases stress which makes it harder to get pregnant. ...Read more

Cervical position: Cervical position is almost completely unreliable. Unless you are actively in labor there is no reason to check your own cervix this information is not helpful. If you are trying to confirm ovulation try a home ovulation kit if you are trying to conceive.
