Diagnosed w/ Lyme disease, bartonella, & babesia. Have noticed increasingly stiff & painful neck w/ head pain & pressure for past 3 days w/ fever ranging btwn 99.6 & 100.5. Are these symptoms typical?
YOU ARE NOT 15 MIN!: I agree that you should not assume the neck pain is Lyme spasms, and get to ER. Could bartonella cause demyielination lession by itself without having Lyme too?Did lots Lyme wb tests and are negative.Just bartonella is present
Might have Lyme: Bartonella can cause many neurological symptoms; i don't know if it causes demyelinating lesions. However, 20-30% of those with lyme do not show positive WB tests, so negative tests do not rule out lyme. Did your WB test the 31 & 34 bands? If not get one that does (igenex). The WB measures immune response. Those most ill may be negative. Taking anti-lyme herbs/antibiotics may turn the WB positive. ...Read more
GOOD QUESTION-debate: VEGF and other chemicals can be involved in skin and blood vessel change. 1) A debate over treatments. Some are utterly sure what works, and I have looked over treatment failures--not so simple. At times a rash may get worse with treatment and over time go away. Some are exploring direct treatment in the skin, like can be done to help Bartonella gum trouble. Most docs feel trivial and cured easy. ...Read more
