Barley Tea For Babies
I never advise it: A light brew of chamomile tea may give you something to do but I can remember no research data showing predictable benefit. Teas have been offered for colic since the first written treatment books for kids in the 1700's & follow the assumption that the gut is somehow upset. Present thought finds it more a transient behavior/frustration issue. ...Read more

How about gripe waters for reflux and gas issues for babies? How about mom drinking tea w/ chamomile, fennel, and ginger? What probiotics to use?
Possibly helpful: As someone who practices integrative pediatrics, I do incorporate these remedies for colic/gas in babies. Gripe waters that contain small amounts of fennel and ginger are likely safe as are chamomile and fennel teas (for baby or mom - if baby is under 6m, don't give more than 1 oz 3x per day). Probiotics (bifidus, lactobacillus) have been shown to be safe and effective. ...Read more
No, not good: Many grandmas (and product marketers) recommend fennel tea to sooth crying baby. But newborn kidneys aren't ready for the water in the tea just yet. Too much water can actually cause seizures and death in children this young, so please only breast milk or formula for your infant! For crying, try: feeding, diaper change, swaddling, shushing, rocking. If you still feel it's too much, call your doc. ...Read more
Can I take green tea to loose weight while bf my 6month baby? I walk for 25 min daily and exercise for 10 min.
No: Your breast milk is an ultra-filtrate of your plasma so what you eat does to some extent affect the composition of your breast milk. So a little bit of caffeine will enter your baby. The amount he gets will be miniscule and not harm yöur baby. Sometimes baby's are treated with caffeine. ...Read more
Not a problem: A refreshing mixture for dealing with a cold is the kind of tea called "throat coat" mixed with honey and a squirt of lemon juice. This will soothe your throat and will not affect the pregnancy. Serious issues with fetal development almost always occur in the first three months if you are beyond that, there is little you could ingest that would have any effect on the fetus. ...Read more
Is it ok for me to drink the herbalife concentrate tea for diet? Meanwhile I am still breatfeed my 8 month baby.
It's not a good idea: To put sweet liquids like juice or sweet tea in a bottle, only formula or water, to avoid baby's developing a taste for sweets by 5-6 mos. When primary teeth erupt. Wipe out your baby's mouth after feeding & reading at a set bedtime, then put him in his crib drowsy, but awake, without bottle or pacifier to learn to self-calm to sleep by 4 mos. To avoid cavities & sleep problems at 6 mos. & >. ...Read more

Don't lose weight: We ask women who are pregnant or trying to get pregnant not to be losing weight as weight loss leads to the formation of ketones which are not good for the baby. If you want to lose weight before you start trying just cut back on your calories. I'm sure you know the ones that have betrayed you. ...Read more
