At what rate does a fleet enema (sodium bisphosphate) make a child evacuate his bowels?

At what rate does a fleet enema (sodium bisphosphate) make a child evacuate his bowels?

Enema: Sometimes an enema will work right away, sometimes it takes an hour or two. Depending on the age of the child you may want to use something by mouth instead. If the child holds his poop and you put something in his bottom he may feel punished and continue to hold in the future. Clean out, followed by daily stool softener, and consistent toileting time is often a better option. ...Read more

Is a CT scan dangerous to a 23 year old, (abdominal) virtual colonoscopy? How many standard x-rays equivelant roughly ?

Is a CT scan dangerous to a 23 year old, (abdominal) virtual colonoscopy? How many standard x-rays equivelant roughly ?

Does have some risks: Ct scans do expose you to a modest dose of radiation which is not harmful if you have good indications for doing this test and there is no better alternative. Could I have colon hydrotherapy as a substitute for the "standard" prep for a colonoscopy? Normally use enemas.

If it clears you out: The main purpose of colon prep for colonsocopy is to clean out the stool so that the camera can see the linings of your colon. The 'standard prep" works well because it has been done a gazillion times.
