Had banding and laser for internal hemorrhoids but been having difficulty healing cause of hard stools. I take fiber and stool softener twice a day, could the stool softener make it worse?
Soft stools: Fiber provides bulk to the stools but doesn't soften them much. Stool softener a like Colace have a mild effect. Thrombosing: Banding hemorrhoids causes them to thrombose, or clot off. But this may shift venous flow to other dilated veins in the rectum leading to new hemorrhoids.
