I was tested a year ago for lymes disease. Only band 41 came back positive. Could i still have lymes disease?
Wb-band 41 positive, dfm showed spirochetes and gemmas.Syphilis-negative.Can it be Lyme with only band 41 positive?Got inactive demyelination lessions
Possibly- more tests: A 41 band alone could signify lyme but is not enough to make the diagnosis. Unfortunately most labs don't do an adequate WB test- it's crucial to test the highly specific 31 & 34 bands & most labs don't. Ignenex does the best test. I had HIV EIA (enzyme immunoassay) testing done and it has been non-reactive. What else could be causing the P41 Band (IgG & IgM) to be positive?

Not enough info: This test is not evidence of lyme but also not proof you don't have it! ultimately lyme is a clinical diagnosis. 20-30% of those who have it never have a positive western blot. It's really important that the test include the 31 & 34 bands & most labs don't check it- igenex is the best lab for a thorough test.
