Could I have Lyme disease without the rash and sore joints or is it highly unlikely?

I had Lyme disease in 2011 and it was treated with antibiotics Could Lyme symptoms persist years later? I still feel fatigued with muscle aches.

Yes it can: Because the organism causing Lyme is a spirochete, it does not really respond completely to antibiotics and some may have survived. Get several blood tests to,check, for,Luke titters. Does pheriferal neuropathy caused by Lyme disease go away by itself after healing lyme? My left foot is burning...I can't get no sleep because of it

Does pheriferal neuropathy caused by Lyme disease go away by itself after healing lyme? My left foot is burning...I can't get no sleep because of it

See a neurologist: This is one situation in which i would urge a 2nd opinion with a neurologist if you have not already seen one. If the neuropathy is related to lyme disease (and imo that is a large "if") the injury to the nerves heals very slowly. A neurologist would rule out other causes and offer you meds which are often very helpful in minimizing the symptoms. ...Read more

Last year I was diagnosed with Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. The last few days both of my nipples are sore to the touch?

Last year I was diagnosed with Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. The last few days both of my nipples are sore to the touch?

Sensitivity: I doubt one has anything to do with another. Have your doctor check your estrogen levels (which if your taking intramuscular testosterone for example...will convert excess androgen to the female hormone as well). If your hypothyroid..you may be getting too much thyroid replacement hormone. Flomax (tamsulosin) for prostate issues can also cause similar symptoms. See your doctor, have him evaluate you. ...Read more

Could knee, foot, calf, and leg pain be caused my Lyme disease or mono or ra? What types of tests should I have? I do have a back history

Could knee, foot, calf, and leg pain be caused my Lyme disease or mono or ra? What types of tests should I have? I do have a back history

Cannot diagnose: You need to be thoroughly evaluated and to communicate effectively with the doctor(s) seeing you. This cannot be done long distance over the internet. Make a detailed list of all your symptoms, the sequence in which they occur and their relationships with each other and take this with all you prior medical records to either a rheumatologist or an infectious diseases doctor. Good luck. ...Read more

More evaluation: If your symptoms worsen with exertion (claudication), you may need an evaluation for peripheral arterial disease (PAD). While these may be simply muscle cramps, be sure to talk with your doctor about sciatica (pain that originates from lower back via nerves traveling to the leg), tendon rupture, and arterial aneurysm. Your doctor may also want you to see a Rheumatologist. ...Read more

Must treat: This is very suspicious for Lyme. About 30% will never test positive for Lyme. You need a course of antibiotics ASAP. Lyme must be treated quickly, or else it becomes chronic and is much harder to treat. ...Read more

5 days sore throat, severe body/joint ache & fever (100-102). Thought it was strep or virus, but today i find a bullseye-like bite on my trunk. Can it be Lyme disease? Is it too early for blood test?

5 days sore throat, severe body/joint ache & fever (100-102). Thought it was strep or virus, but today i find a bullseye-like bite on my trunk. Can it be Lyme disease? Is it too early for blood test?

Epidemiology : When early lyme is suspected, the diagnosis is based on clinical grounds. Taking a picture of the rash & having a doctor examine it before it disappear is advisable. Other things can cause a bulls eye rash such as a fixed drug eruption, southern tick-associated rash illness, etc. Early recognition is very important. Its too early for an antibody blood test. Epidemiology will help your doc answer. ...Read more
