Bald Spot Pubic Hair
There seems 2 be a small round spot on my pubic area where hair doesn't grow. Just skin. Is that bad? Why would there be a 'bald' spot on my pubic hair?
Alopecia Areata: Alopecia areata is an acquired skin disease that can affect all hair-bearing skin and is characterized by localized areas of non-scarring hair loss. Alopecia areata, as a rule, is rarely associated with any other external or internal medical problems. Most often these bald areas regrow their hair spontaneously. Intralesional cortisone is helpful to cure this disorder. ...Read more

I have a birth mark on the back of my head, but my hair covers it. If I were to get it removed, will I have a bald spot?
Yes, a small one...: About the width of the scar. When a lesion is removed, the surgery approximates the skin margins together so that it heals promptly, but the scar itself will not have hair follicles. Usually hair around it grows and covers the scar, so it is not noticeable unless one's head is shaved. If there is a concern about the birth mark and skin cancer, your life is most important. ...Read more

Bald spot due to hair dresser leaving bleach on too long. I cover it up by parting my hair. How to get hair to grow in that area???
Will grow back,,,, be patient. You are "injuring" your hair every time you bleach it! Think about changing the coloring process OR your Hairdresser!

I have thick, long hair, and just found a bald spot on my hair. Wondering what could cause this, and if it's true stress could be a reason?
Why speculate???: See a dermatologist for diagnosis and directed therapy. Maybe ALOPECIA AREATA, an autoimmune condition. Other diagnoses possible. Need exam. Why guess?? Stress may cause this from long-term compulsive neurotic rubbing of the same place. You will know if you are doing this. ...Read more

Other forms include a scar like base, or a skin nevus. There are no easy treatments.
