No.: And not safer. Too much sodium for starts. I would try an h2 blocker, before moving to a ppi like omeprazole. Long term use can causes many problems. 150-300mg of generic Zantac (ranitidine) may be all you need! ...Read more

YES!: Once your symptoms are well controlled you can start re-introducing these pleasurable items to your diet. However, you might never be able to consume as much as you used to without recurring symptoms or damage to your esophagus. Moderation is the key especially with sodas since they can not only worsen reflux directly, but also cause weight gain that can indirectly make reflux worse. ...Read more

Unlikely reflux: if truly tender to touch, unlikely reflux. Although, could have reflux and another condition causing the right-sided tenderness when you touch. If symptoms worsen or persist, please see your doctor. ...Read more
