I have real bad stomach pains/ diarrhea for over a week. I also have had a hysterectomy 5 ys. Ago but they left my overies. What is wrong.

Stay hydrated: Not sure what you mean by breakoutrs? A rash? Many things can cause those stomach symptoms...Viruses, food poisoning, etc. Is anyone else sick? Have you had this before? Diarrhea: There is not a know direct link between switching from an IUD to birth control pills as a cause of diarrhea. I would consider seeing a doctor specifically about diarrhea and investigating this problem separately. ...Read more

Sounds normal : After a bout of viral gastroenteritis, your stools may take several days to return to completely normal. You could always see your primary care provider if something seems wrong, and is not getting better. Hope this helps, and glad to hear your stools are solid. ...Read more

Hard to know: Probably viral gastroenteritis. If you have no fever or other systemic complaints and this does not go away or get markedly better within the next 24-48 hrs go and see a doctor. Hope you are better soon. ...Read more

Maybe OK to stop...: Most upper respiratory infections are viral, and no antibiotic treats any virus infection. Your doctor knows this, but probably thinks a bacterial infection is possible. But it sounds like the antibiotic isn't working, and it's probably the cause of your intestineal symptoms, so probably should be stopped. But don't go by distant online advice; discuss with your doctor before stopping it. ...Read more
