Bent Back Thumb Pain: Hello. Sounds like a thumb sprain but with some involvement of your ulnar collateral ligament. Sometimes ligament can rupture and break off bone with it it (avulsion fracture). Hopefully all you'll need is some short term splinting and rest of your thumb. Read more
I've had severe pain and swelling in my hands, especially in my left thumb. I get a burning sensation in my wrists while touching. It affects my work and makes me irritable. What should I do?
Thumb Pain: Tough to say based on that description. One possibility would be osteoarthritis at the base of the thumb/wrist, though not typically described as burning. Not sure: I assume you mean the little finger side of your wrist. Pain on this side of wrist has many potential causes. Tendinitis is most likely cause, but ligament injuries can cause this as well. Wrist pain that's constant with any movement no swelling or injury just came upon extremely sore when I first wake up I notice a swollen vain?

On the other hand it may go away on its own. Read more

Use a wrist brace to: Rest the wrist, and as much as possible during work as well. Without proper hx or exam, difficult to advise, except see an orthopod.
