What if i discover that what i just ate went bad long ago, what's there to do to avoid food poisoning/reduce the severity of the symptoms?

Just let it happen.: Just let whatever happens happens. You're not going to feel well for maybe a couple more days, but don't make yourself vomit as (a) it won't help and (b) you can give yourself a tear in your esophagus, which of course would not be good. ...Read more
I ate a very small piece of bad (sour/off) feta. Didn't know it was off until i tasted and swallowed it! what are my chances of getting food poisoning? I'm having surgery tomorrow so really scared!

I think i had food poisoning contracted two days ago from eating a reheated curry. The vomitting and diarrhoea stopped however i have bad wind still and the constant feeling i need to be sick. Is this normal? Is there anything i can do to help it?
Can wasabi peas go bad and cause food poisoning? Ate some for first time ever, already were sitting in cupboard for while. Felt flu-ish next few days
Not food poisoning: Dried foods like wasabi peas are an unlikely cause of food poisoning, and "flu-ish" symptoms don't suggest it. The main symptoms of food poisoning are gastrointestinal -- nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. And food poison symptoms generally clear up on their own within 1-2 days.
