If the symptoms are confined to the spring, you may consider trying a nasal steroid/antihistamine nasal spray to see if it works better. Very, very inexpensive as well. 2nd generation antihistamines, like ketotifen may be less effective than some 1st generation antihistamines like Naphcon-A (2 drug combo.
