Probably OK, but...: I doubt there is any serious potential for an adverse interaction. However, one of the problems with "natural" medicines, herbal products, and nutritional supplements, etc is that their exact contents often are unknown, And even when known, there is little research on interations with other drugs. Probably > 1day.: A person can have a rash from Bactrim or any other drug, but it likely developed during the course of the drug, not after. I was just diagnosed with ca-mrsa and i'm scared since it is often resistant to drugs. I just started bactrim ds tonight. What are the chances of it not responding to any drug? How can you know if it's caught early enough? Thank you!
Partially resistant: Ca MRSA is not particularly worse than having regular staph infection. It is not related to the flesh eating bacteria scare. The choice of antibiotics is limited, but generally the infection is sensitive to at least a few of the mainstream antibiotics of which Bactrim is one. What is the chance of getting a 2nd bactrim rash. A month after using the drug and stopping because of the 1st rash the drug was ok for a year before?
Are there any interactions between bactrim and olive leaf extract? or can I take them simultaneously? also, Bactrim & garlic extract/monoluarin?
Most important thing: you must know when taking Bactrim is that it can form crystals in your kidneys if you don't hydrate enough. So taking larges amount of filtered water to protect your kidneys is paramount. Olive leaf extract which is the heart of the mediterranean diet should not pose a problem, but it's always good to take your supplements separately from your medications in general. Increases free drug: Much of Coumadin is bound to protein. Many drugs, including bactrim, dislodge it from protein and increase the free (active) drug in the circulation.
