Increases free drug: Much of Coumadin is bound to protein. Many drugs, including bactrim, (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) dislodge it from protein and increase the free (active) drug in the circulation. Most important thing: you must know when taking Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) is that it can form crystals in your kidneys if you don't hydrate enough. So taking larges amount of filtered water to protect your kidneys is paramount. Olive leaf extract which is the heart of the mediterranean diet should not pose a problem, but it's always good to take your supplements separately from your medications in general. Sounds ok: If a normal person has taken acetaminophen (Tylenol) in the past without getting side effects, and has taken Bactrim in the past without getting side effects, then she should be able to take them together without problem.
