Starting taking smz/tmp ds 800-160 to treat a bacterial infection of the vagina. This is day two & I already have whitish discharge. Signs of yeast?

Too early: This could be vaginal yeast, but it is a little to early to be related to the antibiotics. It may have existed prior to the "infection" or may have been your primary infection. Hard to tell.

Could husband ejaculating inside me be causing bacterial infections in my vagina? I shower, wipe, and only have sex with my husband?

Could husband ejaculating inside me be causing bacterial infections in my vagina? I shower, wipe, and only have sex with my husband?

See your doctor: If you continue to have repeat vaginal infections, talk over your history and symptoms with your doctor. Normally, semen should not cause bacterial infections. Make sure that you urinate after sex and do not douche. Douching wipes out all the good bacteria in the vagina and can set you up for infection. Birth control, bladder infections, medications can also cause infections. See your doctor soon.

Being treated for bacterial infection of vagina. Vulva area is red, and burns. What can I safely use on area to soothe the skin?

Think diaper rash!: If the vulva and perirectal area are this irritated, you might want to approach it like you would a diaper rash. For example, a&d ointment, zinc oxide, or dessitin are great "water-proofers." they may help protect the area while you have a chance to heal. Good luck. Lgromkomd.

I keep getting bacterial infections in my vagina, what should I do to prevent it? And what medications should I use to clear up the infection?

Acidify & probiotics: Many women struggle with flares of bacterial infections related to times when the ph of the vagina goes up. That is the acidity that is supposed to be at 4. Blood and semen are both about 7. Using a product such as rephresh once after sex and for 3 days after each period can help. At the same time taking probiotics by mouth increases good bacteria in your body including the vagina. Lactobacilli +.
