My dr have given me baclofen, flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) and soma. Is it safe to take together? I switch up on the meds so I am not taking them all together.

Lots of meds: That is a lot of similar meds
i would say that not taking them togeather is best and frankly I tend to be a bit of a nonbeliever when it comes to such meds for most forms of treatment and certainly not for ankles and elbows/ try wraping the ankle or elbow with plastic wrap at bed time and see how that works - it is an old horse trainer trick that I have used for decades and it can be very helpfu. ...Read more

Is mobic, aciphex, (rabeprazole) flexeril, and a compounded cream with ketoprofen, baclofen, lidocaine all together safe?

Is mobic, aciphex, (rabeprazole) flexeril, and a compounded cream with ketoprofen, baclofen, lidocaine all together safe?

Maybe not: There is a slight risk of combining the Mobic and the Ketoprofen. Those two meds are in the same class & could cause stomach ulcers or kidney damage (do NOT use if have kidney prob). We just don't know if enough of the Ketoprofen would be absorbed systemically to cause a problem. Aciphex (rabeprazole) protects against ulcers. The Flexeril and Baclofen are also in the same class and could cause sedation. ...Read more

Which is stronger? Flexeril or Baclofen Been on both of them years ago. I got into a MVA and need one again. Which is stronger please?

IIt depends: Possibly backlofen which is used for spastic conditions like cerebral palsy, but it really depends on which works best for you with no or tolerable side effects. Flexeril can help you sleep at night because it is sedating. It is mostly prescribed for low back pain. There are others: robaxin, skelaxin, (metaxalone) tizanidine, Norflex...... ...Read more

Is Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) or Baclofen easier on the Kidneys?

Is Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) or Baclofen easier on the Kidneys?

Neither?: Neither of these drugs in normal doses is "hard" on the kidneys. Baclofen is renally excreted so there is a theoretical disadvantage to baclofen, but this is not important to a normally functioning kidney. L ...Read more

I had been on baclofen for 3 yrs now, but doesn't feel like it helps, is flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) as good, skeletal prob. & fibro?

Hard to compare: Both are muscle relaxants and both are used for muscle relaxation. They are used for fibromyalgia, since muscle relaxation helps fibromyalgia. Baclofen and Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) are usually not used just for skeletal problems. Discuss with your pcp. ...Read more

I want to know if it is safe to take soma, flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) and baclofen?

Additive effects: All three can have side effects of drowsiness and dizziness, and could compromise activity such as driving. Baclofen is usually a med for spasticity, and Soma and Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) are "muscle relaxants". Not clear from your provided information, as to why you are taking all three. Recommend a lengthy discussion with your doctor to get this clarified and approached more specifically. ...Read more

Should a patient with any kidney issues take baclofen still, or switch meds? I did 2 flexeril, (cyclobenzaprine hcl) but still having lots of spaspms, have had 7 spinal sur

Some concern: Genitourinary side effects including urinary frequency have been reported in 2% to 6% of treated patients. Enuresis, urinary retention, dysuria, abnormal ejaculation, kidney calculus, oliguria, vaginitis and impotence have also been reported. Other medications could be used for that called Soma (carisoprodol) and other. ...Read more

Have had 7spinal surgeries n past 6yrs, no longer able 2 take baclofen (on it 5yrs), so? Is Soma or flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) better 4 someone n constant spasm?, help

Soma (carisoprodol) isn't good: Soma is converted into a form of a horse tranquilizer in the body. I do not personally prescribe it. Skelaxin, (metaxalone) zanaflex, or Flexeril would be better options for you. ...Read more
