If it's in the center of the back and it's more painful or tender when you touch it then it's worth getting seen for it to make sure it's not an infection of the spine or other suspicious lesion. Watch for any leg weakness or numbness.

Assuming no radiating pain with this tightness, start stretching exercises, including hamstring and quad stretching, core strengthening, and lumbar flex/extension stretching can help.
