Back Pain On Left Side Under Rib Cage
Have had stomach pain for past 2 weeks that feels like flutters on the left side under rib cage along with chest pain and back pain. What could it be?
More than 1 problem: The stomach pain is most likely caused by stomach pain. But the flutters are due to irregularities in your heart rhythm - most often in your age group: premature atrial beats (or contractions). You can feel better by avoiding caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, and getting plenty of sleep and trying stress reduction techniques (like yoga or TM). IF that fails, there are meds that can help.
Bad back pain on left side that goes around to my front side under breast. Feels like it's under rib cage. Severe pain?
Intercostal: Pain that radiates from back to front, usually sharp and stabbing in character, may be related to intercostal neuralgia. This irritation of the nerve supplying each rib can be treated by rib mobilization techniques or by intercostal nerve block, which is diagnostic as well as therapeutic. In either case it is crucial to assure proper rib motion is re-established, or pain will returnSee 1 more doctor answer
I have had lower rig back pain for two weeks now I have a red rash that's raised on right upper side of my buttock w/ burning sensation under rib cage?
Hi I'm having right side pain under rib cage and lower back pain that is releaved when I have a bowl movement. I'm also have nausea.
Start with water: Try to increase water intake and maybe also fiber intake to get a more even consistency to your stool. If having regular bowel movements results in minimization of the discomfort then this was the problem. If symptoms persist then you probably need to see your doctor in order to evaluate for other things like gallbladder problems.
Recurring utis, lower left back pain under rib cage, high white blood cell count in urine, nausea, weakness. Causes?
Pyelonephritis: It sounds like you have pyelonephritis/ renal infection. You could have infected kidney stones or an obstructing ureteral stone. You could have vessico-ureteral reflux or a large post void bladder residual. I would recommend that you see a urologist and get a renal/bladder ultrasound and voiding cysto-urethrogram. Good luck.
Abdominal pain gets very bad at night, causes pain come and go in chest. Throbbing back pain. Nauseating. And causes pain under rib cage. Not pregnant?
Requires examination: It is difficult to comment without examination. Pain in the rib cage could be originating in the cartilage, muscles, nerves or bone or from surrounding structures such at the diaphragm, liver, lungs, pancreas and spleen. An ectopic pregnancy can also cause the pain you are describing. An examination by a Dr is needed and possibly an Ultrasound scan and blood tests would be needed.
I am urinating frequently. Lower back pain. Pain under rib cage. Headache and fatigue. Not pregnant?
Possible infection: Urinary tract infection, pyelonephritis, pelvic inflammatory disease, endometritis, suprapubic or intersitial cystitis, vaginitis can all cause pain in the suprapubic region, low thoracic region, flank region. Exact etiology of the cause of the pain requires thorough physical examination and testing with your physician to prevent future complications.See 2 more doctor answers
Left back pain where the rib cage ends, also to the side of the body at the same level. What can it be? It hurts when I make pressure no other symptom
Back pain: This could be many things - more information would be needed. If there was a strain or lifting - it could be a muscle strain. If fever or cough - could be pneumonia. If fever or symptoms when you pee - could be kidney infection. If a rash around that side of back with blister like lesions it could be shingles. If the pain persists follow up your physician. Good Luck
I am a 50yo overweight female with constant left sided low back/side pain x6mos that is severe at times. Sometimes I have upper back pain which wraps around above my rib cage that is worse upon waking in the am but does subside throughout the day.
Back pain: Your back pain should be evaluated by a spine doctor. Even with your weight, some of the symptoms you described may be a sign of other things. I would see some one as soon as possible.
I got acid reflux problem. I'm taking nexium (esomeprazole). But from last 2 weeks I have back pain left side close to shoulder blade in rib cage area. Why is that?
? unrelated: Stomach intestinal issues should not be referred to the back unless something serious is going on such as perforation, pancreatitis, bleeding. If you have pain in your shoulder it could be referred pain or something completely unrelated. For this type of complaint a face to face with your doctor will likely provide better answers to a complex question. Good luck
Upper back pain (skin fells sore) rib cage pain on both sides but more noticeable on front lower left ribs. What could it be?

If a person had pancreatic cancer that is causing left side pain (under the rib cage) and back pain, should you be experiencing weight loss too?
Pancreatic Cancer: Unfortunately even in this era of tremendous advances in oncology field pancreatic cancer is still a gruesome diagnosis. The most common symptom is jaundice and pain is rather rare and can be associated with very advanced disease with significant weight loss. Pain is more often associated with pancreatitis and specific tests should be done to rule out inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis).See 1 more doctor answer
What causes a bad pain in my right shoulder blade and back pain/ seems to be the right side of my rib cage
An Ortho evaluation: When patients have persistent pain a good physical and exam can usually help figure out the causes which in this situation can include rotator cuff issues, neck pain, a pinched nerve or muscle spasm. An orthopedist or physical medicine and rehab can evaluate if a MRI is necessary and when to start therapy or other treatment. There are other non ortho causes of pain to consider like costochondritis.See 1 more doctor answer
I've had back pain under my rib cage on my right side. There is no increase in pain when I breathe or take deep breathes.?
Trauma?: If the pain came up on its own and you didn't have an injury, it's best to see your doctor to try to find an underlying cause.
I have middle back pain and pain under my left rib cage. There is an increase in pain when I take a deep breath, what could this be?
Pleurisy: Sounds like it could be pleurisy. If you don't have a rash on your skin that looks like blisters (which would be shingles), this is likely an inflammation of the lining of your lungs. Ibuprofen (if ok with your system) is the treatment of choice. Other possibilities are a pulled ribcage muscle - if that's the case, Ibuprofen is still the treatment.See 1 more doctor answer
