I have low back pain numbness in right leg and foot. Sometime leg feels very heavy. Pain feels like knife slicing across back and stinging.

Pinched Nerve: Sounds like you have a pinched nerve in your back. I would suggest seeing a pain/spine specialist to evaluate you further to evaluate what level and what can be done to treat you. Imaging?: Have you had any imaging-back xray MRI to see if there is any inflammation of any of the nerves that come out of the back,or if any disks are bulging against the spinal cord or nerves coming from the back and down the legs or from the neck down the arms?Maybe a neurologist would perform an EMG on the muscles in your right arm, feet and legs.Falling down is definitely not normal and concerning ...Read more

Stress urgency: urgent evaluation is imperative for such changes. I would call the office in the morning and request for a much sooner appointment considering you are having dynamic neurological changes. You could also go in to see your primary care physician to see if there are any other red flags that show up on a complete neurological physical examination of you in person. Consider ESI: Call you doc and see if you can get an epidural steroid injection. This can stifle the symptoms until surgery and minimize your need for nsaids (which you cannot take due to bleeding complications prior to surgery) and narcotics. Ice/heat fine, but don't use rubs or patches as they may cause skin reaction necessitating surgery to be canceled. ...Read more
