Urgent Evaluation: Consider urgent evaluation as radiating pain down an arm - more so if left sided - can be due to heart problems (like lack of blood flow to the coronary arteries cause a heart attack). In this case it sounds more neurological - maybe a compressed nerve. This because it is relieved with the position change. One that would likely reduce pressure on nerves radiating from the neck down arm. ...Read more
