Back Pain Around Rib Cage
I've woke up with a sore throat and a cough but no other symptoms other than upper and middle back pain around my rear rib cage. What could this be?
Have back pain that goes from the bra strap to bottom of rib cage. Make it hard to get in and out of bed, pain can be so bad.?
Back strain: People who strain their back are surprised at how severe and sharp the pain is. I have experienced this myself on two occasions. The symptoms from a back strain will improve in time. Rest, otc meds for pain, gentle stretches, massage, body work, etc can all help. Work on core strength once the pain is gone. Www. Spine-health. Left back pain where the rib cage ends, also to the side of the body at the same level. What can it be? It hurts when I make pressure no other symptom
Back pain: This could be many things - more information would be needed. If there was a strain or lifting - it could be a muscle strain. If fever or cough - could be pneumonia. If fever or symptoms when you pee - could be kidney infection. If a rash around that side of back with blister like lesions it could be shingles. If the pain persists follow up your physician. Good Luck
Mid right back pain worsened by running kicks in after 25+mins started of spasms now constant band of pain under right rib cage pain refered low right?
Cancer pain: Not knowing your current medical condition, it is hard to say. If you are healthy, it may be a sign of fatigue or muscle aches and pains. If its worse not relieved by over the counter medication or topical remedies, I would see your physician to check out all the possibilties of the back/rib pain.
What causes a bad pain in my right shoulder blade and back pain/ seems to be the right side of my rib cage
An Ortho evaluation: When patients have persistent pain a good physical and exam can usually help figure out the causes which in this situation can include rotator cuff issues, neck pain, a pinched nerve or muscle spasm. An orthopedist or physical medicine and rehab can evaluate if a MRI is necessary and when to start therapy or other treatment. There are other non ortho causes of pain to consider like costochondritis.See 1 more doctor answer
I've had back pain under my rib cage on my right side. There is no increase in pain when I breathe or take deep breathes.?
Trauma?: If the pain came up on its own and you didn't have an injury, it's best to see your doctor to try to find an underlying cause.
I have middle back pain and pain under my left rib cage. There is an increase in pain when I take a deep breath, what could this be?
Pleurisy: Sounds like it could be pleurisy. If you don't have a rash on your skin that looks like blisters (which would be shingles), this is likely an inflammation of the lining of your lungs. Ibuprofen (if ok with your system) is the treatment of choice. Other possibilities are a pulled ribcage muscle - if that's the case, Ibuprofen is still the treatment.See 1 more doctor answer
Have IBS-C, and got a new mattress months ago. It seems to have sunk in the middle. I've woke up with back pain just below the rib cage all across. Normal?
New mattress: Unfortunately, you may need to get a new mattress or return that one. A mattress needs to be firm enough to support your spine in neutral alignment. If your mattress sinks in the middle and you are having pain, you may need to switch mattresses.
Dad has pain in left lower back. Says it's back pain, muscle feels tense around his rib cage. But the pain is not always there. Is it his kidneys?
Bones on right rib cage near sturnum are bigger than left & stick out. Rarely I wake up w/ back pain but goes away after I get up. Is it sciolosis?
Could be: Or you are sleeping in a "twisted" position...scoliosis does not "go away" This sounds like it could be easily resolved by a physical examination! Speak with your PCP (Primary Care Provider) Hope this helps! Dr Z
I have middle back pain and pain under my left rib cage. There is an increase in pain when I take a deep breath, it is not muscular, what could it be?
Difficult to say: There are many possibilities here. The pain could be coming from the spine. I am not sure how you know it is not muscular. Other possible pain generators include the lungs, ribs or the internal organs. This could be a pain that originates exactly where you feel it or could be referred from a more distant location. You need a good physical examination by an md/do who is used to dealing with this.
I am a 50yo overweight female with constant left sided low back/side pain x6mos that is severe at times. Sometimes I have upper back pain which wraps around above my rib cage that is worse upon waking in the am but does subside throughout the day.
Back pain: Your back pain should be evaluated by a spine doctor. Even with your weight, some of the symptoms you described may be a sign of other things. I would see some one as soon as possible.
I have diagnosed with stage 1 fatty enlarged liver 2 months ago. Now I have a dull back pain with a slight bump under right rib cage?
Doubt related, but: Distinguish fatty liver (steatosis) from fatty liver with abnormal liver tests (steatohepatitis). Best to start with a weight loss diet based on calorie and fat restriction, avoid alcohol, control diabetes & cholesterol (if present). Your doctor will likely want to monitor your labwork, image the liver, & rule out other diseases that can mimick the pattern of liver tests seen with fatty changes.See 1 more doctor answer
