See Your Dentist: What you are describing sounds like either an infection or trauma to your tempero-mandibular-joint (tmj). If you have been in an accident, or had trauma (a left hook?) to your jaw, your TMJ would have moved out of its socket. More information: I wish I had some more information, like if you ever feel your ear popping or feel like you can hear yourself talking out of that ear because if you did I'd think you have a problem with your eustachian tube.
