Sounds not normal: You should not be sleepy all day if you are getting enough sleep at night. According to the National Sleep Foundation (sleepfoundation.org), it may be appropriate for a 22 year old to sleep 6 to 11 hours a day, with 7 to 9 hours being most usual. Circadian clock: I believe first 4-5 hours of sleep a night is not enough, the first step to increase your sleeping time, second our circadian clock regulate the timing of periods of sleepiness and wakefulness throughout the day. Cant go back 2 sleep: It is likely that at 4am, you're having a hard time quieting your mind, try some relaxation to fall back asleep (visualization, music, etc). Create a consistent wake time and avoid naps. Go to bed only when you are tired. If you can't fall asleep within 20 mins, get out of bed until you're tired again.
