Which diseases are caused by bacillus botulinum?

Botulism: The name you've been assigned to look up has been out of date since before I was in med school. It's Clostridium botulinum. Botulism toxin is as deadly as any poison you'll find, and can be acquired preformed in food, or develop in an infected wound, or rarely be formed in the gut -- especially in a baby fed raw honey.

Got döderlein's bacillus to restore my vaginal flora (daily, 1 vaginal capsule for 10 days). How long till I notice a difference?

Got döderlein's bacillus to restore my vaginal flora (daily, 1 vaginal capsule for 10 days). How long till I notice a difference?

Bacterial vaginosis?: Difference in what? You do not indicate what symptoms are occurring or what else you may be doing to help eliminate them. This anaerobic bacillus converts glycogen in the vagina to lactic acid, which changes the ph (acidity) to help control growth of unwanted bacteria, but you may need other antibiotics to eliminate the cause first, and Metronidazole may be killing the doderlein's bacillus.

Which antibiotic is most effective against bacillus subtilus?

Why do you ask?: This is a common bug that grows on the skin and almost never causes problems. If it's food poisoning, antibiotics won't help. Best wishes.

Wanted to know if all bacillus bacteria can test positive to catalase?

Not at all: Erysipelothrix, lactobacillus, and garnerella are usually catalase-negative just among the common gram-positives.

Can you please list the most common human diseases caused by bacteria of the bacillus genus?

Several diseases...: The genus bacillus includes several gram positive spore forming bacterial types. These can cause many forms of infections including but not necessarily limited to "anthrax", gastroenteritis, blood stream infections, and infections of the heart called endocarditis.

Can I take bacillus coagulans with lactose intolerance?

Can I take bacillus coagulans with lactose intolerance?

Yes: Lactose intolerance is due to the lack of an enzyme to break down lactose so that the sugar can be absorbed in the upper intestine. Instead the undigested lactose passes to the lower intestinal tract where fermentation causes the gas, loose BM etc. Probiotic and prebiotic would not worsen your intolerance.

Is it ok to take vaginal probiotic capsules (doderlein's bacillus) for maintenance of vaginal health for 7 days, together with oral probiotic capsules?

Expect gas/bloating: Would suggest stopping the oral probiotic since the combination may cause you significant bloating. Please note that the use of probiotics remains controversial and while it may help specific individuals it may not help others.
