Sick 1x a month. cough, cold, yellow phlegm. Daily probiotics, vitamin C 2000 mg, exercise 2x a wk, sleep, eat well. Hyperthyroidism now normal. Help.

Symptomatic care: Most colds go away on their own and do not need medications, even with phlegm. Fluids, rest, tylenol for pain can all be helpful. Sometimes antihistamines like zyrtec can make getting secretions loose harder. Some folks feel vitamin c helps, and it likely will not hurt, but no great studies exist. Zinc lozenges may have a role. Can be normal: Babies often have a congested sound because they breathe through their nose and can't blow their noses. Your baby may also have some milk/formula in back of throat that she is not clearing or coughing like adults would. Cold and UTI: A UTI can cause infection that can be serious in pregnancy. The cold is very common and rarely ever an issue in pregnancy. Call your OB on Monday and see if they will see you or at least allow you to drop off a urine specimen. Drink lots of fluids and maybe some cranberry juice (not cocktail).
