Persistent fluid: Your doctor needs to actually look at the ear and see if the infection has cleared up or not and whether there is persistent fluid left over after the infection. The infection may have cleared, but fluid can persist and that fluid can hang around for several months. Ear infections: It is important that your baby finishes the antibiotic. Stay on schedule with this. Make sure he is getting enough fluids. Cuddle him as much as you can.
