Wake days/sleep nite: I would make a conscious effort to never let her sleep more than 2 hours at a time during the day, without at least a five minute period of alertness, before I let her sleep more. After a few days her body will shift her deep sleep to a night pattern. ...Read more

Adhd med right 4 me? Diagnosed as child. Procrastination, organization issues, bored easily, temper, restless, impulsive, but school unaffected.

My 7months baby has subclinical hypothyroidism & always seems so restless and difficult to fall asleep. Is there any relationship between them?

Hypothyroid infant: Thyroid dysfunction can be associated with sleep disturbance usually hyperthyroidism/ too much thyroid replacement. In my experience restlessness can be found in both hypo & hyperthyroidism. Follow up now with a pediatric endocrinologist, as untreated infant hypothyroidism has lifelong cognitive effects.

I don't sleep, only 2-5hrs night for at least 18 mo or more. I have pain but think it's controlled. I'm extremely restless. Could it be something more?

Pain vs anxiety vs?: The restlessness could be from pain, OR maybe from anxiety. The first question I'd ask is "Are you sleepy during the daytime? " If you are not sleepy, i.e. if you do NOT fall asleep in the middle of the day, e.g. while watching TV, then maybe you are getting enough sleep. Another question: do you lie awake in bed worrying about things? You should see your doctor for a better evaluation. ...Read more
