Baby Rashes On Chest And Back
Infant had fever about 2 days up to 102.7 finally broke on day 2 but now has rash on head chest back and cries almost constantly?
Common patters: A lot of infant viral infections will have fever for a few days and end in a generalized rash. Some have names based on location and type of rash, but they are expected and rather benign. I'd consider the crying evidence it is not finished. As long as the kid takes fluids well and plays occasionally you can monitor at home. If not drinking the kid should be seen. ...Read more
What do you suggest if my child has a petechiael rash on her chest and back. The doctor said her blood work was ok. What could be the cause of the petechiael rash?
Enterovirus?: This time of year certain enteroviral infections go around and they can cause petechiae (essentially enterovirus is just a common virus that most kids get)The CBC should rule out "bad stuff" like leukemia or other blood disorders & serious infections. Trauma can also cause a petechiae as well. Of course, I really don't know your child's history. Sounds like your ped is doing everything as I would) ...Read more
My 7 week old baby developed a small red rash on her face back of her neck and upper part of her chest what can it be? Is it something to worry about?
Usually baby acne: Timing and location suggest baby acne. A simple process about half of babies will have, peaks at 2 mo and usually fades without treatment at 3m. While pregnant, baby floated in moist conditions like face cream and the placenta removed maternal hormones. Deliver/clamp the cord and baby must deal with left over hormones and dry air. This is likely a normal process, check with doc if you wish. ...Read more

Baby Pimples: Baby pimples or acne, which can be light colored and on various body parts as you describe, often become a bit darker on certain conditions like exposure to heat/water or agitation/crying. These should gradually fade away in a couple of months. Get these checked by your baby's pediatrician at his next regular check to get reassurance re their benign nature. ...Read more
Could be acne..: Acne can take different forms, especially on the back and chest. There are some great creams that can help, and even some oral antibiotics may be appropriate. To help in the meantime, try to avoid synthetic fiber shirts, always shower immediately after working out and sweating and avoid scented or perfumed soaps. But talk with your doc if it's not improving. Hope this helps! ...Read more

I've been getting Wierd small circular red rashes blotched around my body (mainly chest, back, and under upper arms) they are not itchy.
May be fungal like ringworm. You can try over the counter anti-fungal medications. Or may be eczema due to dry skin or food /environmental allergies or granuloma annulare which needs steroids, sometimes you can first layer the antifungal and then on top the steroid cream or get a cream that contains both by prescription f/u /w/doc

My 1 month old son has developed rashes in form of small red bumps all over his body including face neck chest and back. What should I do?
Baby acne?: It's likely to be baby acne at his age, assuming that he is otherwise well and feeding normally. Baby acne tends to occur right around this age and looks like red bumps that get redder and stand out more when baby is upset or just after a bath. This goes away on its own in a few weeks. It is caused by maternal hormones that crossed through the placenta. No treatment is needed. ...Read more
I had a fever 1 month ago and the next month I had a non itchy rashes on my chest and face and upper back all is gone only the one at my upper bac?
Allergic vs Scarlet:
If you have a rash that we can look at it would be helpful to give you a better idea. If some of the rash disappeared then it's less likely to be anything serious. I doubt it was scarlet fever based on what you have described but it's possible.
Other causes could be allergic reaction or medication reaction.
I would watch and see if the fever comes back, if so please contact a doctor. ...Read more
Is it normal for a 6 week old baby to have little rashes all over their face, ears, neck, and half of chest?
Common, not normal: Babies will have many episodes of illness and rashes, so these are quite common but not normal by 6 wks. If it is tiny/prickly little bumps (like-goose-bumps) and baby is acting normally, it is likely heat-rash. So, keep/dress baby comfortably and avoid excessive heat exposure. Check with doc for an eval to make sure. Congrats on new baby and good luck. ...Read more

Petechiae rashes on upper chest. What could this be? I have had blood test for lupus and sjogren's syndrome but all came back negative except C3 level
Are they petechiae?: Real petechiae do not lose their color when you press down on them. With your dry eyes and joint pain, sjogren and lupus labs are in order. What's your platelet count, did you bleed badly during a dental procedure, and did your physician try something simple like a capillary fragility / tourniquet test? If it really petechiae without signs of clotting trouble, a dermatology consult is in order. ...Read more
