Baby Poops After Every Feed
No: Stooling patterns for infants are very different from adults. Some newborns poop after every feed (yes that can mean 8 times a day!). Some breastfed babies, however, absorb all the nutrients in the milk and can go up to a week without a poopey diaper. As long as your baby is gaining weight well, his stool is soft, there's no blood in the diaper and the stool isn't a white color its probably ok. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
6 week old baby normally poops once a day has been pooping after every feed the last day. Formula fed, poos are mustard colour and watery. Take 2 dr?
:poop:: It is okay for a baby to poop after every feed. The watery consistency does not sound normal however and the baby may have a light stomach virus. I would feed the baby two feedings with pedialyte instead of formula. If the watery poop continues after switching back to formula, I would take the baby to be evaluated or if there is associated vomiting, fever or other symptoms. ...Read more
Not necesarily: Look into how much you r feeding him first. Try to make feeds of lesser amount and more frequent. Also use "reflux precautions" in which u keep babies head elevated above stomach for half an hour after each feeding, and lay him with head of crib elevated. If this doesn't work talk with your doctor to see if thickening or changing formula is the next best thing. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
3 month old baby doing green potty with mucus 4 times day after .Strickly breast feed but last week 1 time fed with formulae.
It depends!: The frequency, color and consistency of normal infant stools vary a lot. Green is not abnormal. Mucous can reflect inflammation, as in bacterial stool infection or an allergic problem. If your baby's stools became more frequent and contained mucous only after a bottle of formula, it may be a milk protein allergy. If the baby is feeding and acting well, i'd keep nursing and talk to the doctor. ...Read more
More or less: I push for 2.5-3 hours during the day and 4-5 hr at night. If you make a gradual change this can happen and you will both do well. After the kid reaches 10 lb, she may sleep 5-7 hrs. This is often aided if she is fed as she wakens rather than as she tires and is ready for sleep. Removing feeds from the sleep ritual alows them to learn to self settle. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Infant stools: Yellow, seedy, nonbloody stools are normal in a formula fed infant. Changing from breast to formula, or changing from one formula to another can cause changes in stool frequency and appearance. Sudden changes in stools, if associated with irritability, bloody stools, vomiting, lethargy or any other symptom of illness should be evaluated prompty. ...Read more
2 month old baby. Bottle fed. She drinks about 1 to 1.5 oz milk a time. Every hour intervals. At night she sleeps for 7 hours and not fed . Proper?
Pumped milk, right?: Babies drink breast milk, either pumped or directly from the breast. Formula (not cow milk) is an option if there is not enough breast milk. In nature, nobody knows how much a baby drinks, because she drinks from the breast. That being said, if a normal healthy 2 month-old wakes every hour and only drinks 1.5 oz, she can be gradually increased to 3 oz per feeding and will likely sleep better. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Almost 3 mnth old formula fed daughter has poop in almost every diaper, extremely uncharacteristically fussy, inconsolable, spitting up frequently...?
Tough situation!: Oh you poor thing- you must be so worried! And tired! The part that strikes me as most concerning is that this is unlike her. We'd agree that it's normal for babies to cry, babies at this age can be very colicky. I'm not worried about the diapers, maybe she's coming down with a virus. Check her temperature and if > 100.3 rectally, if bloody or dark green vomit, take her to the ER please. ...Read more

3 months old infant.. Recently changed formula from 'novalac' to 'NAN' pooping continuously after every fed. Is it normal?
Common: In infants it is common for them to have a bowel movement after each feed. Most important is to see if the child is behaving and responding well. If baby is sucking well, feeding well, has no vomiting, smiles and is active, there is no cause for concern. But if you remain worried take the baby to a pediatrician to have the baby checked. ...Read more
How long should baby feed from breast per feed? Baby 1 week old. I feel like i just feed her for 5, 10 minutes every 2 hrs. Want to excl. Breastfeed
That's fine: In nature, babies eat whenever they are hungry. If a young baby nurses for 5-10 minutes on each breast, and then happily sleeps a couple of hours, that is fine... As long as the baby is growing. After the first week of life, a baby will grow about 1 ounce per day for a few weeks. If worried about not having enough milk, mom and baby can just see the pediatrician to check on the weight and feeding. ...Read more

3 - 4: A young breastfed baby usually poops after every feeding or after every-other feeding (averaging 3-4 poops a day). As the weeks go by, babies tend to poop less often, some twice a day while others once every-other day. As long as a baby is normal in eating, growth, and development; and does not have constipation, bloating, or tummy aches; then the number of poops per day is not very important. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
