Doesn't really stop: I am going to make assumption that what you mean is that you can't detect the baby's heart rate for hours at a time, & then, likely due to position change or activity in the fetus, you can again. This IS normal.Certainly, if there is true compression of the umbilical cord vessels, the baby's heart rate could be affected.But this is probably not happening..she's just sleeping or moving.
